Our little city on the bay is showing off its economic resurgence through the development of six new condominium projects that are helping to reshape downtown Sarasota. With the impact that the recession had on the area, these 501 new residential units, ranging in price from $300,000 to $4.5 million, are a grand opportunity for people who want to participate in Sarasota's renaissance and enjoy the process of its revitalization. As plans for redevelopment are underway on the bayfront, and new retail spaces and hotel rooms are being developed along with these new residential spaces, it is a great time to start planning for a move downtown.
- VUE Sarasota Bay
The Kolter Group's 141-unit high-rise is currently under construction at the corner of Gulfstream Boulevard and US-41, where it will indeed, as the name promises, offer plenty of water vistas. In addition to the residential units, which range from $800,000 to $2.1 million, VUE will also include a second glass and steel tower featuring 255 Westin Hotel rooms, which will share some of VUE's amenities, including a private dog park atop the parking garage. As a gateway to Ringling Bridge and the islands, VUE is looking pretty good.
Still in preconstruction, the 17 luxury units in the works at SANSARA are sure to offer beautiful views of their own. Located in lovely northern Burns Court, sales have already begun on the 2,300 to 4,700 square feet, three-bedroom units starting at $1.9 million. Situated only blocks from the bayfront at 300 S. Although it won't have the views of the water that VUE and SANSARA promise, City Place at Pineapple Square brings new vibrancy to the downtown area for those who want to live in the heart of the city. On the corner of Pineapple and Lemon, next to the new State Street parking garage (also currently under construction), this 13-story structure is set to feature 30-40 new retail outlets in addition to the 276 condominium units. With an upper deck tiki bar, heated pool and spa, fitness center, private theater, and prices ranging from $400,000 to $900,000, City Place offers urban living at its finest.
- The Jewel
Currently underway at the coveted corner of Main Street and Gulf Stream Boulevard, The Jewel is preparing 19 luxury units, ranging from $1.4 million to $3.9 million. With commercial units on the ground floor and sweeping views of Sarasota Bay, condos at The Jewel already seem to be filling up fast.
Having yet to break ground, AQUA will soon add eight luxury units to Golden Gate Point. The two and three-story modern townhomes, ranging from 1,889 to 4,276 square feet, start at $300,000, making them the most affordable solution for those ready to get involved in Sarasota's latest burst of growth.
