Where To Find Sarasota's Best Pizza

Finding amazing pizza is one of the first orders of business whenever you find yourself in a new town. Fortunately, Sarasota has plenty of options, from New York to Chicago, and everything in between. Of course, you can always settle for the standard chains that taste the same anyplace you may go, however, I invite you to try some of our local pizza chefs and the incredible pies you can only experience in Sarasota.

Rico's  - With five locations throughout Sarasota, Bradenton, and Lakewood Ranch, Rico’s is one of our most successful local pizza chains. Featuring online ordering from each of their locations, Rico’s is a safe bet wherever you might be.

Solorzano's  – Opening in Gulf Gate in 2004, Solorzano’s pizza paved the way for other locations on Siesta Key and on the corner of Webber and Beneva. No matter which location works best for you, this New Jersey family recipe is sure to please.

Flavio’s - With one location on Siesta Key, Flavio’s offers authentic Italian cooking and brick oven pizzas made from scratch. They don’t deliver, but the intimate ambiance is well worth the visit.

Pizza SRQ - With one location on Palmer Road and another opening in the Rosemary District, Pizza SRQ creates their signature flavors by infusing their ingredients with essential oils. They also offer regular cooking classes, where you can learn how to make everything form pizza to chocolate desserts.

Il Panificio - Whether you visit their Gulf Gate or Downtown Sarasota locations, Il Panificio offers great pizzas, a fantastic Italian bakery, and a very savory cappuccino and espresso bar.

Ringling Pizza - If you’re looking to celebrate Sarasota’s circus culture, you owe yourself a visit to Ringling Pizza. With specialty pizzas including Greek, Buffalo Chicken, and Taco pizzas, you’re sure to find something different under this big top.

Joey D's - Opening first in Bradenton, Joey D’s now has two locations in Sarasota, on Bee Ridge near I-75 and near Downtown Sarasota. If you’re a fan of Chicago style pizza, this is the one you have to try.

The Fountain - A relatively new fixture in Burns Court near Downtown Sarasota, The Fountain offers outdoor dining and a fabulous selection of wines to accompany their thin crust pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and pastas. For a real treat, try some of their small plate specialties like their California Kale Rolls or Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms.

Caraguilo’s - You can’t really talk about dining out in Sarasota without mentioning the Caragiulo family. Although they have expanded their culinary empire to include Owen’s Fish Camp, Shore Diner, and Veronica, Caragiulo’s Italian Restaurant in Downtown Sarasota is where it all started, and dining there always feels like you’re visiting family.

Patellini's - Although they crossed Main Street to their current location a few years ago, Patellinis’s has been serving Downtown Sarasota since 1985. If you’re downtown in need of a slice, they always fill the need.

Of course, these are only a sampling of Sarasota’s pizzerias. While these are ones you won’t want to miss, be sure to explore the rest of Sarasota in order to find your favorites as well.
